Violinist Kristine Choi, age 18, has been a student of Professor Ron Patterson since 2010 when she moved to Bellevue, WA, from South Korea. As an aspiring soloist Kristine has won numerous awards in the past including first place in the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) competition and the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside. In 2016, Kristine made her solo debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City as the first place recipient of the International American Protégé Competition. As an avid orchestral musician, Kristine participated in and served as the concertmaster in a number of ensembles including the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Young Artists Orchestra at Boston University Tanglewood Institute during the summer of 2015. This coming fall, Kristine plans to attend Vanderbilt University.
