Origin Records Showcase with John Bishop

Origin Records Showcase with John Bishop

“Great music without exception…a terrific organization and in my opinion, Bishop is one of the best cover designers in the world.” – Rudolf Radnai, Muszerordal, Budapest, Hungary

Origin Records founder, and drummer, John Bishop gathers together a group of Northwest jazz all-stars, each prime voices from the label, for an evening of fun-loving music making. With vocalist, Jeff Baker, saxophonist, Brent Jensen, Thomas Marriott on trumpet, pianist, Bill Anschell, and bass player, Jeff Johnson, these longtime friends and colleagues explore jazz standards & original compositions, many featured on the dozens of Origin recordings on which they’ve appeared.

Celebrating its 20th year in 2017, Seattle’s award-winning Origin Records has built a catalog of 550 albums from 300 artists and an international reputation for highly artistic recordings from some of the more intriguing performers around.

“Origin and OA2 reflect many colors of contemporary jazz…dark and brooding, slick and urban, modern and angular, even seductive and languid. Extremely well-recorded and beautifully packaged, this music will take you “‘downtown.'” – Jeff Hanley, Jazz After Hours, PRI.
