Poet, composer, theologian, and feminist, the remarkable Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz was renowned far beyond her native Mexico. While almost none of her own music has survived, many composers from across Spain and Latin America set her words to their own music. Henry Lebedinsky and the Underground House Choir perform rarely heard works by Sor Juana as well as Antonio Salazar, Marcos de Navas, and Matiás Durango.
Pacific MusicWorks Underground blends baroque music with drink, friends, and fun. Our monthly matinée concerts at Resonance showcase some of the finest performers from the Seattle area, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond; with creatively-themed programming, multimedia, and a good dose of humor. There might even be a musical pub quiz or drinking game thrown in for fun. The series features communal table seating with brunch-themed bar service available throughout each performance. Snacks and other non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
We can’t wait to see you!
