Resonance Masters’ Series invites music-lovers of the Seattle area to witness the Pacific Northwest premiere performance of the “Annunciation” Piano Quintet by Philip Glass. The work, written in 2018 and inspired by Greek Orthodox communion hymns, has received rave reviews in New York, Connecticut, and Nebraska, and will be performed by the composer’s longtime collaborator, pianist Paul Barnes, and the Seattle-based ensemble, Skyros Quartet. The program will also feature Bartok’s second String Quartet and additional piano works by Glass.
Barnes will offer a piano masterclass to local young musicians the previous evening.
