Cellist Nathan Chan in Recital

Join Seattle Symphony Assistant Principal Cellist Nathan Chan for an evening of delightful musical discoveries, featuring a fantastic collection of showpieces and short works for the cello… and maybe a couple unexpected surprises.


Cellist Nathan Chan made his musical debut at age three conducting the San Jose Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, The Royal Philharmonic, and the Albany Symphony, among others. Chan was a chosen artist for Fondation Louis Vuitton’s Classe d’Excellence du Violoncelle with renowned cellist Gautier Capuçon. Nathan earned his Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and has a growing internet presence with over 7 million views. Nathan studied with Richard Aaron at The Juilliard School, where he earned his Masters of Music. He is currently Assistant Principal Cello of the Seattle Symphony.

The Resonance Masters’ Series brings the best of the best right to the heart of Bellevue. We feature concerts by internationally distinguished artists and seek to create dialogues between these renowned performers and the unusually talented youth music scene in the Seattle area.

MASTERCLASS WITH NATHAN CHAN

Mr. Chan will conduct a masterclass with local students of the cello a week earlier on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 beginning at 7:30 pm. Admission to the masterclass is free and open to the public. No ticket purchase or registration is needed to attend.

STUDENT APPLICANTS

To participate and perform in the masterclass, please have your teacher email mastersseries@resonance.events with link to a recording of your recent playing.  Spots are limited, so please apply early to ensure availability.  A member of our team will contact you to provide further instructions.
