Founded in 1976, New Beginnings’ mission is to empower survivors and mobilize community awareness and action to end domestic violence. New Beginnings was the first organization to open its doors to help survivors in Seattle and we are the only full service agency in Seattle whose primary mission is to serve domestic violence survivors. On average, New Beginnings serves over 10,000 women, children, and men each year through one of our programs. Through a combination of our services, New Beginnings is positioned to help survivors at all stages of their movement to safety, from creating a safety plan while still living with their abuser to finding affordable housing or accessing immigration documents. Our services include a 24-hour helpline, one-on-one advocacy for adults and children, housing services, support and parenting groups, legal advocacy, mental health therapy, violence prevention education in schools, community outreach and trainings, and referrals to other community resources.
