Romaric Pokorny, (baroque viola) is an avid chamber music player, performing with the Oceana String Quartet, SCREE! String Quintet, and especially the Rocoempo Trio, alongside his brothers. He also performs with Seattle’s Pacific MusicWorks, SeattleMusic, and the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, among others. A native of France, he received his early musical training there, studying at the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt and at the Conservatoire d’Aulnay-sous-Bois, and earning a Diplome Superieur de Solfege there, and later finishing his studies in the United States with a degree in Viola Performance from the University of Washington. He plays a copy of a 1620 Brothers Amati viola by Francis Beaulieu.
